They say life is full of surprises and that's definitely been the case for me. I never expected to end up as a UX designer, but then again, I never realised that I was eating hamburgers “incorrectly”. Without me knowing it, my journey into UX design started in high school on a particularly boring Saturday evening. Whilst out with my friends, they began to take notice of how I picked up and ate my burger; supposedly it was upside down, but to me it was not just logical, it was natural. Picking up the burger with my thumbs on top was more ergonomic, leading to less strain on my forearms and creating a natural arching motion towards my first delectable bite. For my friends, this was a game-changer (although they still like to take the piss).
Turns out i’m not alone in how I eat a burger! Thanks Daniel Wilson for backing up my extensive research.
That's when I realized that sometimes the smallest changes can make the biggest impact. I later discovered that by understanding the user's perspective, I could create experiences that are not only functional but also delightful. Cue my entrance into the wide world of UX design.
